I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses that report to supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.

From Pods to Roast Beef
[Jesus teaching] “’Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be in need.
And he went and attached himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he was longing to fill his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating and no one was giving anything to him….

Blood and Butter
“If you have been foolish in exalting yourself or if you have plotted evil, put your hand on your mouth. For the churning of milk produces butter, and pressing the nose brings forth blood; so the churning of anger produces strife.” Proverbs 30:32-33
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling. It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who gives attention to the word shall find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.” Proverbs 16:18-20
Raven’s Bread
“Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, ‘As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years except by my word.’

Review of Loaves
“And sighing deeply in His spirit, He said, ‘Why does this generation seek for a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.’ And leaving them, He again embarked and went away to the other side.

His Feast
“And a voice came from the throne, saying, ‘Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.’ Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, ‘Hallelujah! …

“Further, he distributed to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and women, a cake of bread and one of the dates and one of raisins to each one. Then all the people departed each to his house.” II Samuel 6:17-19

“When the boys grew up, Esau became a skilled hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a peaceful man, living in tents. Now Isaac loved Esau, because he had a taste for game; but Rebekah loved Jacob.

[Naomi to Ruth] “Then she said, ‘Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; return after your sister-in-law.’ But Ruth said, ‘Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge.
“’Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the Lord do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me.’ When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more to her.

You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!’” Matthew 23:23-24 New American Standard Bible
