Refining Cheese
[Job speaking] “’Thy hands fashioned and made me altogether, and wouldst Thou destroy me? Remember now, that Thou hast made me as clay; and wouldst Thou turn me into dust again?
“’Didst Thou not pour me out like milk, and curdle me like cheese; cloth me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews? Thou hast granted me life and loving kindness; and Thy care has preserved my spirit.’” Job 10:8-12
“For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well.
“My frame was not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret, and skilfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” Psalm 139:13-16
· To make a diamond, you must put a lump of coal under extreme pressure.
· To purify gold, you must put it through a very searing fire.
· To make cheese it takes heat, lots of sloshing around, pulling, pushing, patience and then squeezing out the liquid…
Do you see a pattern here? Our lives, lived in His caring love will be filled with His wise ways of ‘encouraging’ the very best out of us and for us -- for our good and His glory. That is an amazing gift that keeps hope growing in our hearts!
