Ready or Not!

NOTE:  This video is 17 minutes long.
It is my second Christmas gift to you.

‘Ready for Christmas?’ by Alistair Begg

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’, and there was light.  And God saw that the light was good and God separated the light from the darkness.  And God called the light day, and the darkness He called night.  And there was evening and there was morning, one day.” Genesis 1:1-5

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:1-6, 14

I started my reading adventure of the Bible, on the first page of Genesis, as anyone would.  As I read God’s Word, He began to change my ‘want tos’ (Isaiah 55:11).  However, it took ten years of reading that book over many times before He grabbed my heart and brought me to my knees as I owned up to and confessed how disobedient and willful a sinner I was.

But He did not leave me there on my knees, so sorry and lost.  He raised me up and slowly began to transform my life into the image of His beloved Son, Jesus – His plan from the beginning of my life (Psalm 139)!

I’ve walked with Him for more than 50 years now…sometimes walking steady and determinedly, sometimes falling and failing and sometimes struggling with each step, but always He walks with me toward eternity.

Take care with love, especially His, from Darlene, who still prays for you each day.
