Harkening Back
““Now the people became like those who complain of adversity in the hearing of the Lord; and when the Lord heard it, His anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
“The people therefore cried out to Moses and Moses prayed to the Lord and the fire died out. So the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the Lord burned among them.
“The rabble who were among them had greedy desires; and also the sons of Israel wept again and said, ‘Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic, but now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except the manna.’” Numbers 11:1-6
I’ve not met anyone who doesn’t have a pleasant memory who is conscious. And we are quick to compare our today with the good yesterdays we have seen and yet, God has future plans for us to look forward to. I’ve written a reminder of this, thanks to Betty O (the first discipler I had) who shared this with me:
‘Resist harkening back to what you once had or were
when God wants you to look forward to
something new He is creating for you.’
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 11 Corinthians 5:17-19
Take care with love, especially His, from Darlene, who still prays for you each day.

NOTE: I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.
