Three More for Laodicea
“’Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, therefore be zealous and repent.
“’Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
“’He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father of His throne.’” Revelation 3:19-21
I’ve been writing and typing out Scripture for nearly half a century and
there is nothing like it to open your eyes to new discoveries. For those who have been faithfully following the current series: God’s Promises Have Conditions’ through the Bible, we have finally reached Revelation.
Nested in the verses above is a very familiar verse (Revelation 1:9) that many of us have even memorised -- that God is knocking on the door of the heart of every pre-believer, waiting on them to respond to His approach.
It is flanked by two additional, easily-missed promises:
· God loves us enough to discipline us so we are stronger in our walk with Him and
· it is by persevering in hope through our trials that we are will one day sit down in heaven with the Father.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you daily). If you would like to read more about Revelation, you might want to order Rational Read of Revelation (from previous WeakDay Devotions).
